पुस्तक का विवरण : अपने व्यवहार को मैंने दो श्रेणियों में बाँटने का प्रयास किया है। कुछ ऐसे व्यवहार हैं जिन्हें मैंने विचारपूर्वक सम्पन्न करने का प्रयत्न किया है तथा दूसरे वे व्यवहार हैं जिनके पीछे किसी प्रकार की सुविचारित योजना नहीं रही जिनके लिए कुछ प्रयास भी नहीं किया और कभी कुछ किया तो फल उस विचारित प्रयास के अनुकूल नहीं हुआ। इसका कारण मैं भाग्य का चक्र मानता हूँ। मेरा विश्वास है कि ऐसी अनेक घटनाएँ प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के साथ घटती हैं, परन्तु व्यक्ति अपने कार्यों में व्यस्त रहते हुए अथवा विचारशीलता के अभाव में उन घटनाओं की ध्यान दिए बिना जीवन व्यतीत करता चला जाता है। मेरा ध्यान इन घटनाओं की ओर गया तो फिर मैं अपने पूर्ण जीवन पर अवलोकन करने लगा। जब एक बार इस दिशा में अवलोकन आरम्भ हुआ तो फिर ऐसा दिखाई दिया कि जीवन की आधी से अधिक घटनाएँ इस भाग्य-चक्र के अन्तर्गत हैं। जीवन की शेष घटनाएँ तो सामान्य रोटी, कपड़ा, मकान उपलब्ध करने का प्रयास मात्र हैं..............
